Founded in 1999, we're a non-profit educational organization in the Mount Agamenticus region of southern Maine. Our facilities include a nature museum & classroom, 16 acres adjacent to a large wilderness area.

Maine Primitive Gathering

Date: Friday, Sept. 10 - Sunday, Sept. 12.

Description: Quickly becoming a very popular regional gathering, the Maine Primitive Gathering is a weekend of skilled and curious people sharing and learning many traditional skills. White Pine's Dan Gardoqui will be leading Bird Language and Wildlife Tracking workshops on Saturday, Sept 11th.

BioBlitz 2010 - At the Seacoast Science Center:
 

Date: September 18th, sun up 'til sundown

Description: Since it's inception in the early 2000's White Pine Programs staff, interns, and trained volunteers have headed up the Mammal team a tthis all day Field Science Marathon to inventory the biodiversity of this unique landscape.
 

 


 
The Art of Mentoring: Creating a Culture of Awareness
 

Date: September 22nd - 26th (Wed eve. - Sun noon).

Description: The Art of Mentoring is a 5-day power-packed experiential workshop with adult, teen, youth, and elder programs simultaneously running. If you want to learn abotu the roots of White Pine Programs and understand how we facilitate a culture of nature awareness, this is the place to be. This year,many folks from the White Pine community will be attending (core staff, board members, summer staff, elders, etc).

Wildlife Tracking Apprenticeship - SPACES OPEN
 
Date: October 2010 - June 2011
 
Description: The purpose of the White Pine Tracking Apprenticeship is to help prepare people to apply tracking skills as effective tools in community, scientific, and educational settings. Apprentices are guaranteed monthly field tracking time in a diversity of habitats across New England and will take part in unique evening workshops to become more proficient and experienced wildlife trackers.

Forest Scouts

Date: September 18th, October 16th & November 20th-21st

Fee: $195 for the three month session, cost includes optional overnight experience.

 

Outdoor Girls

Date: October 2nd, November 6th-7th & December 4th

Fee: $195 for the three month session, cost includes optional overnight experience.

 

Wilderness Skills for Homeschoolers

Date: 10 weeks: Oct. 6th through Dec. 15th (no program Nov. 24th)

Time: 9am-3pm each Wednesday

Fee: $450 for the ten week session, cost includes optional overnight experience. Monthly payment schedule can be arranged.

 

Young Naturalist Program

Date:  Ten week session Oct. 7th through Dec. 16th (no program Nov. 25th)

Time: 1-4 pm each Thursday

Fee: $250 for the ten week session. Monthly payment optio can be arranged.
