School-Year Programs
Many parents wish they knew a lot of woods skills to share with their kids (or wish they had to the time to share the skills they do have). This full-day program (9am-3pm) focuses on stimulating children's existing passions, their desire to learn more, and their innate love of nature. We build off those blocks and add layers of learning and experience in wilderness skills, such as: making cordage, bow and drill fire making, stone boiling, sensory awareness games, emergency fire building, wild food gathering and preparation, search skills, practical camping skills and more.
Get your kids outdoors! This wonderfully fun and informative program serves youth ages 6-10 each week from late September through mid June. Designed for all kids, Young Naturalists takes place Thursdays, 1pm-4pm at White Pine Programs in Cape Neddick (York) Maine.
Young Naturalists is one big, whirlwind of fun, learning, and adventure in the woods! Our seasoned staff guide these precious children on wild adventures, share memorizing stories, joyful songs, and fun games - all the while slipping in practical and helpful lessons about living close to the earth.
A monthly program for girls 8-14. We unite girls with women of similar passions for a full day immersed in nature. Ourdoor Girls! cultivates compassion through learning to respect the earth & self and boosts self-confidence through repeated success in challenges. The program encourages self-expression through art, singing, storytelling, and focus through wilderness and naturalist skills such as fire-by-friction, wild edible identification and harvesting, shelter building and much more! Finally, Outdoor Girls! fosters humility by connecting girls and young women with the grounding, healing power of the earth.
Program cost: $195 for the three month spring session.
